Cantamus...

means “We sing!“

We are an ambitious, mixed choir from Gießen. Since our formation in 2009 we have made it our goal to interpret the full range of choral music on a high level. From Renaissance to contemporary, from classical to pop, both sacred and secular music, be it Schuetz or Whitacre: We face the challenges of every epoch and genre, expressing our passion for the music with every note!

Cantamus is a colourful mishmash of about 40 singers, mostly young or young at heart. Together with our conductor Axel Pfeiffer our mission is to make music that moves and touches the audience. It is our audience's enthusiasm that inspires us to develop and improve. But collectively achieving an expressive choir sound does not merely connect us musically: Community and fun are equally important, since...

“What is best in music is not to be found in the notes“ (Gustav Mahler)
